Helping children succeed

As a part of our "God's Work, Our Hands" Sunday this past weekend, 15 people joined together to help assemble backpacks with school supplies.

We assembled 25 backpacks for students in Kindergarten through Second grade, and another 75 backpacks for students in the Third through Ninth grades.

The 100 total backpacks will be distributed by Community Christian Services Agency (CCSA). Also, there is additional supplemental materials which will be donated to fill in any incomplete backpacks currently at CCSA.

Whom shall I send?

We give thanks to God and rejoice with our beloved sister, Cyndi Jones, for her ordination and call to ministry.

Cyndi was a part of our faith community for a year as our pastoral intern. She learned a lot from us, and we equally learned a lot from her. 

She will serve the worshiping community of Atonement Lutheran Church here in San Diego, as well as serve the Pacifica Synod for Disability Awareness ministry. 

Our prayers are with her as she lives out her call to ministry in Christ's holy church.
