Music at Clairemont Lutheran
Sacred music is a proud tradition of Clairemont Lutheran Church. The choirs of Clairemont Lutheran Church present to the worship assembly a wide variety of music from our many talented members. We invite you to take a moment to explore the musical heritage of Clairemont, and as always, you are invited to join us on Sunday morning to experience our devotion to sacred music for yourself.
Sanctuary Choir. Under the skilled direction of Dr. Steven Gray, the Sanctuary Choir was formed in mid 2007 by combining the Chancel Choir and Glory Sound Choir. The Sanctuary Choir sings weekly at our 8:00 and 10:15 worship services. The Sanctuary Choir also performs annually at Clairemont's Advent Vespers service in December. They rehearse on Monday nights at Clairemont.
Handbell Choir. Since 1988, Gary Jaus has conducted the Campanile Ringers, Clairemont Lutheran's Hand Bell Choir. During that time, the Campanile Ringers have released two compact discs and played several performances at Clairemont Lutheran and throughout the San Diego area. They are always a welcome ensemble on Sunday mornings at worship, offering their music on a monthly basis and performing two concerts annually, during the summer and a December Christmas Concert. They rehearse on Thursday nights at Clairemont.
Alleluia Choir. Participating in worship regularly is the Alleluia Choir, consisting of some of the youngest members of Clairemont Lutheran Church. Mary Hoogterp has conducted this group for many years and their energy and excitement is always a welcome addition to the 10:15 worship service. They gather for rehearsal and other activities on Thursday nights at Clairemont. |
