April 6th - April 12th, 2008 Presented to the Glory of God: Chancel Flowers by Chet & Barbara Coolong in loving memory of Mary Louise on her 50th birthday and Pulpit Flowers Linda Hoffman in memory of her mother, Thelma Sagrov. Remember in Prayer: The family of Peggy Anderson, Jim & Cayla Brown, Barb and Bob Hoeschen, Scripture Readings for Sunday April 13: Acts 2:42-47; Psalms 23; 1 Peter 2:19-25; John 10:1-10. Today we welcome Michael Rueth as guest
organist while Dr. Steven Gray is on vacation. Adult forum today continues to study peacemaking. Today we will look at what peace in the world meant to the early church, when death was first a real consequence for following the teachings of Jesus. We will try to answer the questions of what it means to live, love and forgive as Jesus did. Join us in room 2 after a cup of coffee. Don’t forget: donations to the donut
basket help fund our youth ministry. Lutheran Social Services has a wheel chair
lift van that is available to us to use on Sunday Mornings. We would like to
assemble a team to pick up members of our church who have no other means to get
here. No special licence is required to drive the van, but familiarity with a
large vehicle is a good thing. We would like to have a two person team for pick
ups with both a driver and helper. If you are interested in this new ministry
please speak to one of our pastors. The Chili cook-off for Lutheran Campus
Ministry is almost here. Please help us to support Campus ministry (we will be
hosting a campus ministry Sunday on May 18) and to increase our donation over
past years. The chili pot in on the table in the entry way if you can not make
it to Christ Lutheran on April 20th at 4:00. Pastor Mike will be our
chef this year. Remember, if you donate now you won’t have to "pay"
later! Peace Circle - will gather on the second
Monday of April (4/14) at 7:30 p.m. Mary Jo Flattum will be the hostess. Mark your calender now for the April 20 Vesper
Concert featuring Dmitry Kirichenko on piano. Young Adults will gather once again on
Saturday, April 26 at 11:30 in the Clairemont Parking Lot to attend the Arizona
Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres game at Petco Park. There is a sign-up
sheet on the patio for those interested in attending, and we ask that you sign
up soon. The cost will be $14.00 for the upper deck seats. This
invitation is open to anyone interested in attending, adults and children and
youth, young and young at heart. Please see Pastor Mike for more
information. _______________________
